Footpath enhancement works are continuing in Yungaburra with the construction of three new concrete pathways and two access ramps. The works are expected to be completed by late October.
- A new pathway between Fig St & Kehoe Pl – this footpath section will pass in between CWA building and Information centre through Maude Kehoe Park.1.
2. A new pathway between Eacham Road and Maude Kehoe Place through ANZAC Park and an access ramp on the existing footpath section across Maude Kehoe Place.
3. A pathway extension between the existing footpath on Market ground to an access ramp on Gillies Range Road in front of Good Vibes Grooming Studio.
These new links form part of an ongoing program designed to provide an uninterrupted continuous footpath network for pedestrians across Yungaburra. Aligned with these works, learn more about the removal of a large fig tree in the area and the associated tree replanting program here.
These latest footpath enhancement works are in addition to works completed late 2025, connecting the footpath along Fig Street to Ash Street.
A new 35m footpath section between Park Avenue and Malanda Showgrounds was completed in August 2026.
About 100m of damaged footpath was replaced and other sections repaired on Park Avenue. The project was completed in December 2025.
A 160m damaged section was replaced with new footpath on Moore Street. The project was completed in February 2026.
New sections of Tinaroo Foreshore footpath network were completed in December 2025 and include:
- A 76m section connecting the Tinaroo foreshore car parks to the existing pathway near the playground
- A 22m new footpath joining the existing foreshore path to the toilet
- New footpath sections connecting the existing bitumen to Church Street.
