National Volunteer Week 2026 – Free Community Volunteer Breakfast

Tablelands Regional Council is proud to support and celebrate local volunteers during National Volunteers Week 2026, 18-24 May.

Volunteers play a vital role in building connected, inclusive, and resilient communities and National Volunteer Week is a time to say thank you, and recognise, the people who give up their time to contribute to our community, and care.

‘On Friday 22 May, from 7.00am to 9.00am, Council will be providing free breakfast for our Tablelands volunteers, in front of the Atherton SES Headquarters at 42 Mabel Street,’ said TRC Mayor, Rod Marti. ‘Drop in, have a chat, and enjoy breakfast on us, with a tasty egg, bacon and sausage breakfast roll and a hot cuppa.’

‘This event is a small way of saying thank you for the time, skills, and dedication volunteers contribute to our region’, Mayor Marti added. ‘All volunteers are welcome! Whether you volunteer your time supporting emergency services, help a community group, rescue and care for animals, have a shift in a charity shop, or are one of the many dedicated volunteers helping in Council libraries, galleries, visitor information centres or nurseries, we hope you can make it along.’

The theme for National Volunteer Week 2026 is ‘Your Year to Volunteer’.
