Volunteer

We have invaluable volunteers in our art galleries, libraries, information centres, nursery, museum, and for special events.

We encourage applicants from all backgrounds including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people from different cultural backgrounds and people with disabilities.

If you would you like to:

  • become part of a passionate and committed team who enjoy what they do and have fun while they do it
  • make a rewarding contribution to your community
  • share your skills and learn something new
  • help to enhance and extend services offered to the public and visitors
  • meet new people and make friends.

Volunteering May Be For You!

If you would like to become a volunteer, read the Volunteer Handbook, role description and agreement, and submit an application.

Community Disaster Teams

We have community disaster teams in Herberton, Malanda, Millaa Millaa, Mount Garnet, Ravenshoe, Tinaroo/Kairi and Yungaburra. These groups of passionate locals work with the Local Disaster Coordination Centre before, during and after disasters to ensure a two-way flow of information between the Local Disaster Management Group and community. The level of involvement depends on the skills of the members. Put your hand up to be a part of this important program by emailing trcd@trc.qld.gov.au.
