Three new dual-cab Toyota Landcruiser vehicles were officially handed over to the State Emergency Service this week, with two vehicles provided to Atherton SES Group, and one to the Mount Garnet SES Group. The vehicles will help strengthen local emergency response capabilities across the Tablelands region.
The vehicles were funded through SES Grant support in partnership with Tablelands Regional Council, reinforcing a shared commitment to supporting frontline volunteers and enhancing community safety.
The new vehicles will assist our regional SES volunteers in responding to emergencies, natural disasters and community callouts across the region, while providing improved capability, safety and reliability for local operations.
SES Far Northern Area Controller James Gegg said the new vehicles highlighted the strong partnership between SES and Tablelands Regional Council.
‘SES Far Northern greatly appreciate the strong partnership we maintain with Tablelands Regional Council,’ Mr Gegg said. ‘The support and assistance from all TRC staff and elected officials ensure efficient and effective emergency responses from local SES volunteers.
‘Funding from SES Support Grants, together with council contributions, has provided for the replacement of troop carriers with new dual-cab Land Cruisers,’ said Mr Gregg. ‘These new vehicles will provide SES volunteers with increased capability and safer transport.’
