The Tableland’s diverse landscape creates breathtaking natural beauty in which colourful villages and bustling towns are nestled. In this clean mountain air, a rich arts community thrives and shares their talents. Artists, potters, photographers, sculptors and teachers create artworks that capture the true heart of the Tablelands. Take home your own piece from one of the studios and shops across the region.
We operate three galleries in the Tablelands Region. Exhibitions are constantly changing and include artworks from local artists, travelling exhibitions, and school and community groups.

Changing Light
This solo exhibition explores the changing light and colours of the seasons, reflecting on our tendency to link the seasons with the human life cycle. Chew’s responses to these themes — in pastel on paper and acrylic on canvas — are personal and playful, traversing figurative, landscape and still life subject matter.
By Antonia Chew
On display until Saturday 16 August.

From Shade to Light: Ghost Month to the Moon Festival
The artists commemorate ancestors of Northern Australia’s Chinese communities using papercutting, printmaking and sculpture. Lee honours the 19th century arrival of her great grandfather through her luminous bowls fashioned from silk-paper. See pays homage to former Chinese residents of Atherton with paper effigies of tools and crops.
By Glynis Lee and Pamela See (Xue Mei-Ling)

Local People: The Third Series
This exhibition is the third in a series by the Songriver Photographers that feature portraits of residents of the Tablelands Region. Their stories are as rich in variety as the topography of the area itself. The subjects range from locals whose families have farmed here for generations to artists, musicians, authors, scientists and business entrepreneurs who have chosen this special place to make their home, far from their origins.
By Songriver Photography Group
On display Tuesday 26 August – Friday 14 November.
