Environment

| Malanda Environment Regional Atherton Council Tablelands Mareeba

We need to protect and manage sustainably our natural landscapes for the enjoyment and use of current and future generations. The Tablelands region has distinct natural beauty and biodiversity, including world heritage areas of environmental importance and a strong rural economy.

Council has a responsibility to ensure legislation protecting the environment is upheld and the community is educated on the impacts they have on natural resource management.

Plans and policies are put in place for the protection of our vegetation, waterways and natural resources including how to eradicate, reduce or contain pests.

Everyone is responsible for their actions towards our environment.
