DESCRIPTION:Music lovers are invited to gather for a relaxed summer afternoon of live local music as Sunday in the Park returns to the Yungaburra Community Rotunda on Sunday\, 8 February 2026\, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. \nThe afternoon will still be filled with rich\, soulful sound as Sonic Bloom\, a much-loved rotunda favourite\, takes centre stage.\nLed by Georgie and Tim Borella\, with Nick Watling on drums and Neil Hodgson on bass\, Sonic Bloom delivers a distinctive blend of rock\, country\, blues\, and jazz\, woven together with beautiful harmonies and thoughtful\, heartfelt lyrics. Their dynamic performances and genuine connection with audiences make them a perfect fit for a Sunday afternoon in the park. \nThis is a free\, family-friendly community event\, and attendees are welcome to support the musicians with a direct donation to the band if they wish.\nBring along a chair\, blanket\, or rug to secure your patch of front-row lawn. A natural storyteller and engaging singer-songwriter\, Mitch performs in a relaxed country/folk style that reflects his deep connection to rural life. \nHis original songs cover all the familiar country themes — dogs\, utes\, boots\, and even pondering what stops the universe from imploding! SUMMARY:Atherton Parkrun
DESCRIPTION:A free\, fun and friendly weekly 5k community event. Walk\, jog\, run\, volunteer or spectate. \nHeld every Saturday between 7 -8am on the rail trail\, starting and finishing at the corner of  Weaver Street and Atherton-Herberton Road (opposite Platypus Park). \nThe course is two laps\, one longer loop (3.3kms) and a shorter loop (1.7kms).  Participants proceed to the bollard in Priors Creek park (1st turnaround)\, back to the start (2nd turnaround)\, to the marked bollard near IGA (3rd turnaround) and back to the start to finish.
