DESCRIPTION:A free\, fun and friendly weekly 5k community event. Walk\, jog\, run\, volunteer or spectate. \nHeld every Saturday between 7 -8am on the rail trail\, starting and finishing at the corner of  Weaver Street and Atherton-Herberton Road (opposite Platypus Park). \nThe course is two laps\, one longer loop (3.3kms) and a shorter loop (1.7kms).  Participants proceed to the bollard in Priors Creek park (1st turnaround)\, back to the start (2nd turnaround)\, to the marked bollard near IGA (3rd turnaround) and back to the start to finish.

DESCRIPTION:A free\, fun and friendly weekly 5k community event. Walk\, jog\, run\, volunteer or spectate. \nHeld every Saturday between 7 -8am on the rail trail\, starting and finishing at the corner of  Weaver Street and Atherton-Herberton Road (opposite Platypus Park). \nThe course is two laps\, one longer loop (3.3kms) and a shorter loop (1.7kms).  Participants proceed to the bollard in Priors Creek park (1st turnaround)\, back to the start (2nd turnaround)\, to the marked bollard near IGA (3rd turnaround) and back to the start to finish.

DESCRIPTION:The Yungaburra Heritage Tractor & Machinery Day will return to Lions Oval\, Tinaburra Drive\, Yungaburra\, on Saturday 26 September 2026 from 9:00am to 1:00pm\, celebrating the rich agricultural history and mechanical heritage of the Atherton Tablelands. \nNow in its second year\, this growing community event will feature an impressive display of heritage tractors\, trucks\, engines and machinery used in agriculture across the Atherton Tablelands and wider region. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet passionate collectors and enthusiasts while learning about the machines that helped shape the region’s agricultural and economic development. \nA key highlight of the day will be live tractor pull demonstrations by NQ Tractor Pulling Inc.\, running throughout the morning. This demonstration will showcase vintage and classic tractors as they pull a purpose-built weight transfer sled along a 120-metre track\, offering a powerful and engaging display of heritage machinery in action. Importantly\, this is a demonstration only\, providing an exciting showcase rather than a formal competition. \nNQ Tractor Pulling Inc.\, established in 2018\, has grown to include around 100 members from Mossman to Proserpine and regularly hosts events across North Queensland\, promoting interest in vintage and classic tractor pulling. \nVisitors can also enjoy a relaxed\, family-friendly morning featuring heritage machinery displays\, with refreshments available for purchase from the Lions Food Van and The Whippy Express\, along with Lions train rides available by gold coin donation. \nWith the popular Yungaburra Markets taking place uptown at the market grounds on the same morning\, visitors are encouraged to make a day of it and explore all that the village has to offer. \nThe event is proudly presented by the Lions Club of Yungaburra\, with proceeds supporting their local community initiatives\, including the Medical Aid Equipment Project\, which provides essential equipment to people across the Tablelands recovering from surgery\, receiving palliative care\, or unable to afford necessary medical aids. \nThe Lions Club warmly welcomes new members and encourages anyone interested in supporting their community to get involved. \nAll members of the community are invited to attend. \nKey Event Details \n\nDate: Saturday 26 September 2026\nTime: 9:00am – 1:00pm\nLocation: Lions Oval\, Tinaburra Drive\, Yungaburra\nEntry: $5 per adult\, cash only\, children under 15 free\nAlcohol-free\, family-friendly\n\nFacebook Event link: https://www.facebook.com/share/1BjaUyKyMk/ \nExhibitors are invited to register their machinery via the online form:\nhttps://forms.gle/PMKaDFy8gQV7rwFw6\nAlternatively\, enquiries can be directed to:\nyungaburraheritagemachineryday@gmail.com
