SUMMARY:Atherton Parkrun
DESCRIPTION:A free\, fun and friendly weekly 5k community event. Walk\, jog\, run\, volunteer or spectate. \nHeld every Saturday between 7 -8am on the rail trail\, starting and finishing at the corner of  Weaver Street and Atherton-Herberton Road (opposite Platypus Park). \nThe course is two laps\, one longer loop (3.3kms) and a shorter loop (1.7kms).  Participants proceed to the bollard in Priors Creek park (1st turnaround)\, back to the start (2nd turnaround)\, to the marked bollard near IGA (3rd turnaround) and back to the start to finish.

DESCRIPTION:You are invited to linger longer in Yungaburra after the Saturday Markets on August 22nd and enjoy a three-course LONG LUNCH at Nicks Restaurant from 11.30am to 2pm\, complete with raffles\, lucky door prizes and a lively auction as we celebrate ten years of REGAINED\, helping children in western Kenya regain opportunities lost through disability and poverty.  Tickets are just $50 and can be purchased online at https://events.humanitix.com/long-lunch-in-yungaburra where you will see the menu choices for the three-course meal as well a link to the REGAINED website where you can read more of the projects in Kenya. Bookings are essential.\n \nThe proceeds will support the work of REGAINED\, helping children in western Kenya regain opportunities lost through disability and poverty. REGAINED does this by enabling children with disabilities to attend schools specialising in teaching children with visual\, hearing\, physical or intellectual impairments. REGAINED also provides support for children to access medical and allied health services such as physiotherapy and optometry\, services which are beyond affordability for many families living in poverty.
