DESCRIPTION:From My Sketchbooks | Solo exhibition by Graeme Draper  \nGraeme’s paintings in this exhibition have been created from his sketchbooks over the last 33 years. He takes his sketchbook everywhere\, and whenever something catches his eye\, he can’t help but pick up a pen. He draws inspiration from these sketches to create acrylic works on canvas and let his imagination run riot with composition and colour. This exhibition will mainly comprise landscapes\, most from the Tablelands\, complemented by a selection of bird and fantasy works.  \nThe exhibition will be on display from Tuesday\, 11 August to Saturday\, 3 October 2026.

DESCRIPTION:Tablelands Regional Council will host a commemorative service on Saturday 15 August to mark the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Pacific and the end of the Second World War. \nThe event at Rocky Creek War Memorial Park\, Kennedy Highway\, Tolga\, includes the unveiling of new individual and military unit plaques honouring service personnel connected to the Atherton Tablelands. \nProgram\n10.00–11.00am: Family commemoration for those unveiling new plaques\n11.15–11.45am: Dedication and unveiling of individual plaques\n12noon–12.45pm: Sausage sizzle\, live music and displays\n12.50pm: Guests seated for the Memorial Service\n1.00–2.00pm: VP Day Memorial Service \nRSVPs are requested by Wednesday 12 August\, and are required for anyone wishing to lay a wreath. DESCRIPTION:You are invited to linger longer in Yungaburra after the Saturday Markets on August 22nd and enjoy a three-course LONG LUNCH at Nicks Restaurant from 11.30am to 2pm\, complete with raffles\, lucky door prizes and a lively auction as we celebrate ten years of REGAINED\, helping children in western Kenya regain opportunities lost through disability and poverty.  Tickets are just $50 and can be purchased online at https://events.humanitix.com/long-lunch-in-yungaburra where you will see the menu choices for the three-course meal as well a link to the REGAINED website where you can read more of the projects in Kenya. Bookings are essential.\n \nThe proceeds will support the work of REGAINED\, helping children in western Kenya regain opportunities lost through disability and poverty. REGAINED does this by enabling children with disabilities to attend schools specialising in teaching children with visual\, hearing\, physical or intellectual impairments. REGAINED also provides support for children to access medical and allied health services such as physiotherapy and optometry\, services which are beyond affordability for many families living in poverty.
