A development permit for reconfiguring a lot (1 lot into 40 lots and a balance lot) on land situated at Tinaburra Drive, Yungaburra is approved subject to conditions.
Sunshine Group Australia Pty Ltd
Council has delegated the approval of a development permit for a material change of use for multiple dwellings/short-term accommodation (66 accommodation units, manager’s residence and communal amenities) and for reconfiguring a lot (1 lot into 76 community title lots and common property), and preliminary approval for a material change of use for multiple dwellings (76 units) on land situated at Nasser Road, Atherton to the CEO subject to conditions and subject to the execution of an Infrastructure Agreement between Council and Sunshine Group Australia Pty Ltd.
Tablelands Veterinary Service
A development permit for a material change of use for veterinary services at 2 Ascham Street, Ravenshoe is approved subject to conditions.
Natural Asset Management Advisory Network
Councillor Bilney will chair the Natural Asset Management Advisory Network which aims to maintain ongoing constructive relationships between TRC and representatives of local landholders and interests concerning natural asset management and biodiversity. The terms of reference are endorsed.
Adams Road, Danbulla
An application for permanent road closure of the northern part of Adams Road between Lot 2 on RP717721 and Lot 111 SP213024 is endorsed. The application to permanently close Adams Road between Lot 2 on RP717721 and Lot B on SP292126 is not supported.
Tender T-TRC2021-25 for the replacement of Sluice Creek Bridge is awarded to Lift Tek Pty Ltd trading as Dempsey Cranes and Construction for $485,583.45 including GST.
Malanda Showgrounds & B-Doubles
TRC will seek approval from the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator for the gazetted B-Double access to the Malanda showgrounds via Mary and Thomas Streets to allow for the loading and unloading of cattle. If the application is not approved, then options will be investigated to alter the intersection and infrastructure to allow access through the main entrance. Council will liaise with the Malanda Pastoral Agricultural and Industrial Society Inc.
Financial Report Period Ending 31 January 2022
Operating revenue remains on track with a budget variance of 2.97%. Employee benefits continue to be under budget with staff vacancies and timing of leave contributing to the underspend. Depreciation is currently under budget, capitalisation of completed projects will see this variance decrease.
Our updated Business Continuity Management Framework, Corporate Business Continuity Plan and Pandemic Plan are adopted.
Terms of reference for advisory committees will be revised and presented to the March Ordinary Council meeting for endorsement.
Yungaburra Men’s Shed
Council will commence negotiations with the Yungaburra Men’s Shed Inc for tenure of Yungaburra Memorial Hall.
Lakeside Caravan Park
The CEO will investigate engaging Dineen Tourism Management Pty Ltd to investigate options for the management, leasing, development and/or selling of Lakeside Caravan Park.
The next Council meeting will be held at 9am on Thursday 24 March in the Atherton Coordination Centre.
