Our Inclusive Community

Tablelands Regional Council is working with the community to develop an information toolkit to support businesses and organisation improve access for everyone.

‘We’re keen to find out what an inclusive region looks like, what prevents older people and people with a disability from accessing services and businesses, and what makes it hard for businesses and services to reach everyone in the community,’ said Councillor Peter Hodge.

‘The toolkit we are developing will have multiple tips for delivering inclusive business, based on ideas from our community and around the world.

‘There are a number of ways to get involved in the project and we would love to hear from all parts of the community.

‘We have a survey that is open until Monday 13 December and our project lead is having meetings with individuals, businesses, groups and services.

‘We’ll also be holding workshops in Atherton and Ravenshoe in November to develop and streamline the content of the toolkit.

‘Contact TRC on trccommunityservices@trc.qld.gov.au if you’d like to be a part of the workshops and/or meet with our project leader.

‘The toolkit will be launched around April next year and will be a valuable resource for businesses and organisations in our region,’ Councillor Hodge said.
