It’s Christmas Lights Time!

The much-anticipated Tablelands Regional Council Christmas Lights Competition is on again!

Mayor Rod Marti is looking forward to seeing the festive spirit reflected in light displays on houses, in gardens and across streets in the region.

‘Join the Christmas cheer by decorating your home and garden, and nominating for our competition.

‘You can even get together with your neighbours and nominate your street for the hotly-contested best street award,’ he said.

‘The competition is open to all homes and streets in the TRC region and nominations close 9am Thursday 4 December.

‘We’ll be judging 7–9pm Monday 8 – Friday 12 December and there will be first, second and third place prizes in both categories.

‘We’ll share a list of the participating houses and streets so you can follow the Tablelands Christmas Lights Trail across the community.

‘We’ll also be offering the very popular People’s Choice category again this year.

‘Vote for your favourite home between 12noon Monday 15 and 4pm Wednesday 17 December,’ said Mayor Marti.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Atherton on Thursday 18 December.

Participants are asked to be considerate of others and ensure lights are turned off by 10pm each night.
