Tablelands Regional Council will host a commemorative service on Saturday 15 August to mark the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Pacific and the end of the Second World War.
The event at Rocky Creek War Memorial Park, Kennedy Highway, Tolga, includes the unveiling of new individual and military unit plaques honouring service personnel connected to the Atherton Tablelands.
Program
10.00–11.00am: Family commemoration for those unveiling new plaques
11.15–11.45am: Dedication and unveiling of individual plaques
12noon–12.45pm: Sausage sizzle, live music and displays
12.50pm: Guests seated for the Memorial Service
1.00–2.00pm: VP Day Memorial Service
