Another milestone will be reached on Friday 18 July when five major trees in Yungaburra village will be lit with thousands of fairy lights, thanks to Brisbane Fairy Lights and local generous volunteers. Showcasing the trees is part of the Yungaburra Beautification Inc’s project committee’s enhancement plan for the village which began 13 years ago with the introduction of hanging flower baskets, alongside several other projects including the village rotunda and restoration of the original century old kerosene streetlight.
Yungaburra Beautification Inc plans to coordinate the turning on of the tree lights with the already established lights that illuminate the cenotaph, dancing brolgas which feature on the corner of Fig Street and the Gillies Highway, and the original railway station identification sign.
The celebration is scheduled for 7:00 pm and those attending are asked to gather at Kehoe Park next to the Information Centre.
