Attention all young adventurers and future engineers! Are you ready to join an exciting mission to save a failing moon base?
In the Edison Rescue program, you’ll work in teams of two to design and control your very own Edison robot. Your goal? To restore power to the moon base before it’s too late! But be warned, radiation is everywhere, and time is not on your side. With only a few minutes to control your robot blindly and your partner providing directions, you’ll need to work together to achieve your mission.
You’ll be equipped with all the tools you need to succeed! You’ll learn how to barcode program a universal remote control and code the Edison robot using a block-based interface. The program includes a rescue manual with instructions and example construction figures.
But here’s the twist – due to obstacles on the lunar surface and escaping radiation, participants may need to take turns in their moves to avoid interference and ensure the safety of their team and the mission. Working in pairs, you’ll develop important skills such as communication, collaboration, and critical thinking.
