Changes to Advisory Committees

Tablelands Regional Council made changes to their advisory committees during a confidential item at their Ordinary Council Meeting today.

‘Today we resolved to dissolve our advisory committees and create a selection of working groups and other committees, and to continue our regular community forums,’ said CEO Dr Nikola Stepanov.

‘This decision has not been made lightly and we’ve made these changes to ensure we’re meeting our legislative requirements while continuing to foster community engagement, transparent decision-making, information sharing and good governance.

‘I thank the current and past committee members for selflessly volunteering their time, energy and expertise.

‘Their commitment has played a vital role in shaping informed decisions and supporting the wellbeing of our community and their input has informed strategies, policies and projects that reflect the needs and aspirations of our community.

‘We look forward to working with the community in the future as part of our working groups and committees, and at our community forums,’ said Dr Stepanov.
