Our Voice, Our Future - a time for YOUTH to speak

This project provides an opportunity for young people to voice their aspirations, issues, concerns and solutions.  They will be able to identify youth-led strategies and projects that will ensure that the voices and views of young people are heard and taken into account by any plans to develop the Tablelands region.

Mayor Tom Gilmore said the aim of the project was to hear the views of young people on issues affecting them, and to create an opportunity for Council to work with them to develop strategies and projects to address their concerns.

“This is a very important project because it gives Council its first real opportunity to hear the views of youth on a regional basis,” he said.

The project is aimed at young people aged between 12 and 18 years, and will be funded through a $40,000 grant from the Department of Communities, Local Sport and Recreation, with Tablelands Regional Council to provide in-kind support.
