The Millaa Millaa community has completed the first stages of the community planning process. The council is now compiling this information into a poster to inform the community of the findings to this stage. This will complete the town / district specific process for Millaa Millaa. Follow the quicklinks for Community Planning results for the Millaa Millaa district.

Vision for 2011 - 2021

By 2021 we will have capitalised on our huge potential with our great weather, quality soil, abundant water, rich culture & heritage & safe, clean, green community.

Our population has grown & our economy is well diversified with agriculture, organic agriculture, permaculture, food tourism, tourism, industrial and retail activity.

Our town & district is well known by tourists and locals as a destination of choice and as the Gateway to the Tablelands, Gulf and Falls.

Top issues for Millaa Millaa residents

The most important issues identified by the community were:

  1. Improved road infrastructure (e.g. maintenance, signage and safety)
  2. Effective land use planning for agricultural and residential development
  3. More accommodation and support services for elderly
  4. Improved & more Sport & Recreation facilities (e.g. bike paths & heritage trails)
  5. Improved & affordable public transport
  6. Improved health services and facilities

This list priorities came about as part of two separate exercises. The first was a survey using both print and web based survey forms, the second resulted from a prioritisation exercise where participants chose to allocate dots against issues which are important to them.
