The Julatten community has completed the first stages of the community planning process. The council is now compiling this information into a poster to inform the community of the findings to this stage. Follow the quicklinks for Community Planning results for the Julatten district.

Vision for 2011 - 2021

In 2021, Julatten is still the same unique tranquil place that it is today with its natural environment intact and it's quiet rural way of life preserved.  Julatten will have grown gradually, if at all, and although its residents value their independence and private space, there is a sense of community with the focal point being the community hall (Geraghty Park).

We can walk and ride around our community safely in designated bike paths.  Health services are available in the regional centres of Mossman and Mareeba and are accessible with good safe, roads and public transport. We have good phone, internet and television services.

Top issues for Julatten residents

The most important issues identified by the community were:

  1. Improved phone & internet services & TV reception required
  2. Flood proof roads
  3. Widening of Rifle Creek Bridge required
  4. Need to create village centre in Julatten
  5. Improved & innovative playgrounds, sporting & recreational facilities required e.g. BMX track & Skate ramp
