The Plan focuses on setting a foundation for the future by honing in on “the basics” of providing and developing sport and recreation opportunities in response to the planning and policy issues arising from amalgamation. It also establishes region-wide priorities and supports broad-based sport and active recreation participation that use Council's existing resources effectively.
The Plan reflects community and Council aspirations. Whilst it is a guide for the development and delivery of sport and recreation over the next five years, it needs to be acknowledged that not all actions may be achieved. Council, however, will endeavour to work in partnership with key stakeholders to achieve each of the actions identified in this Plan in order to improve sport and recreation opportunity and provision across the Tablelands.
