ALL Cats and Dogs regardless of where they are kept must be registered with the Council. *
ALL Cats and Dogs born after 8 September 2010 must be microchipped.
The Tablelands Regional Councils local laws that commenced on 1 January 2012 regulate the numbers of cats and dogs that can be kept on urban (residential) and rural residential properties.

Council offers some discounts for animal registrations including free registration for working dogs, puppies and kittens (under 3 months) see Councils website for a list of current fees and registration requirements.
* An exemption exists for bona fide "working dogs". Further information regarding the definition of a working dog can be obtained from Council.
** In exceptional circumstances the Council may grant approval for excess numbers of animals to be kept.
*** A Residential Complex means a complex comprising of more than two joined residential units
