Draft Tablelands Community Plan out for public comment

The draft Tablelands Community Plan is available for public comment.

Tablelands Regional Council has developed the plan over the past 2 years to reflect the community's aspirations, ideas and concerns. The plan sets out the priorities for the long-term progress of our towns, districts and the region in social, economic, environment, cultural and governance areas.

It will also guide future Council budgets and planning activities.

In 2010-11, Council held 70 events to provide opportunities for people to have a say about the most important issues facing their town and district for the next 10 years. The project culminated in a series of regional Think Tanks and finished with a Regional Summit in September. Overall, nearly 11,300 people had a say in the plan's development.

The draft plan will be available for public comment for five weeks from Monday 19 December 2011 to Friday 20 January 2012.

After consideration of this community feedback, the community plan will be presented for Council's final consideration and endorsement on 15 February 2012. Implementation of the community plan will then commence.

Copies of the Tablelands Community Plan will be available as follows:

  • In hard copy at Council Libraries and Customer Service Offices for perusal in the Library or Office
  • Downloaded from the TRC website
