Arty Weekend in November

Atherton is fast becoming a centre for art in Far North Queensland.  The Tablelands Regional Council has three professionally presented art galleries in Atherton under its Director, Deborah Godfrey.

The weekend of 6 - 8 November is set to become a very “arty” weekend with two exhibitions opening and two days of painting in stunning Tableland locations where all are welcome.

On the evening of Friday 6th November at 6.00 pm well known Tablelander, Kerri Redding, is having her second solo exhibition, “Paintings”, to be opened by Ludij Peden at the Foyer Gallery, Mabel Street, Atherton.

Kerri decided because there is another exhibition opening on the Saturday afternoon by the Mareeba group “Painters in the Park”, tutored by Cairns artist Greg Dwyer, that it was the perfect opportunity to offer a weekend of art that local and out-of-town artists alike could join in.

For a very “arty” weekend come to Atherton for Kerri’s Friday evening opening. Saturday morning join Kerri and other artists at Hallorans Hill overlooking Atherton at 9.30am to paint before going to the opening of  the Mareeba art group “Painters in the Park” exhibition at the Old Post Office Gallery, Herberton Rd, Atherton 3pm.

On Sunday 8th starting at 9.30am there will be painting at stunning Lake Barrine. Morning tea and lunch can be purchased at the teahouse.

All events are free.  Further information contact on Kerri Redding 40912955
