Local Laws

Tablelands Regional Council

The Review of the Local Laws has been completed with the new Local Laws taking effect as of 1 January 2012.  The previous 152 Local Laws from Atherton, Eacham, Herberton and Mareeba Shire Councils expired on 31 December 2011.

The Council adopted the model Local Laws and made the Subordinate Local Laws on 7 December 2011, the public notice was published in the Government Gazette on Friday 16 December 2011.

Tablelands Regional Council has adopted the following Local Laws and Subordinate Local Laws:

• Local Law No. 2 (Animal Management) 2011
• Local Law No. 3 (Community and Environmental Management) 2011
• Local Law No. 4 (Local Government Controlled Areas, Facilities and Roads) 2011
• Local Law No. 5 (Parking) 2011

• Subordinate Local Law No.2 (Animal Management) 2011
• Subordinate Local Law No.3 (Community and Environmental Management) 2011

The Local Laws are in the process of being certified by the CEO before being forwarded to the Minister Local Government Planning. Once this has been completed the Local Laws will be included and available on the Department of Infrustructure and Planning website.  The Department maintains a database of all current Local Laws.

Copies of the Local Laws will be available for viewing and may be purchased at a cost of $22.44 at Council’s Service Centres.
