Kuranda Community Precinct

The Kuranda Community Precinct Advisory Committee formed in late 2008 and has been working towards developing the site known as the Old Kuranda Primary School for use by the Community. To date numerous works have been undertaken to bring some of the facilities up to a usable standard and funds from the RLCIP to the value of $250,000 have been allocated towards the site.

The Tablelands Regional Council commissioned Engagement Plus to undertake a comprehensive community engagement process surrounding the future use of the old Kuranda Primary School site now known as the Kuranda Community Precinct. It is intended that the consultation process will identify and draw together the different viewpoints held by the Kuranda community and provide Council with a clear view of the community’s vision and preferences which will in turn assist Council in its development of a Master Plan for the Precinct.

The next stage of the community consultations for the Kuranda Community Precinct is underway.

Based upon what we have learnt so far from the research, a number of possible options have been created for the future development of the Kuranda Community Precinct. This second survey is intended to seek your views about each of the options so that a more refined future direction for the Kuranda Community Precinct can be developed.Click here to take part in the second survey.
