Home Assist Secure

Home Assist Secure is a service funded by the Queensland Department of Housing delivered by Council.

Home Assist Secure works to:

  • help people feel safer at home
  • help people have easier access to and within their home
  • help people incorporate home security routines into daily activities

You can obtain subsidised assistance with minor home maintenance, repairs, modifications and security that relate to your health, safety and security.

How do I qualify for assistance?

To be eligible for free information and referrals, people must be 60 years and over, or of any age with a disability, and live in their own home or in rental housing.

To be eligible for subsidised assistance, people must also receive an Australian Government payment or allowance (Newstart not included) and be unable to make use of alternative forms of assistance, such as Home and Community Care (HACC), Veterans’ Affairs, family or friends.

Directions: When leaving the front entrance of the Tablelands Regional Council Service Centre at 45 Mabel Street Atherton turn left and follow the footpath, then turn left into the Council carpark and walk towards the iron sheds and carports. On the left there is a sign pointing to the Home Assist Secure office. 

Office hours are Monday to Thursday 8am to 2pm and Friday 8am to 12noon.
