Camping

Camping is allowed on some Council reserves throughout the year including:

• Rocky Creek Memorial Park located on the Kennedy Highway, Tolga for a gold coin donation
• Kairi Park opposite the service station, free camping for 24 hours only
• Memorial Park Yungaburra over the Folk Festival weekend held over fourth weekend in October
• Rifle Creek Rest Area, Julatten for a gold coin donation

To book camping sites located thoughout the shire in state government controlled land, please contact the Environmental Protection Agency on phone 131304 Monday to Friday, visit a Queensland Parks & Wildlife office or book online through their website.

• School Point

There are also several Caravan Parks leased by Council throughout the region.

Motor Home Sewage Dumping (Dumping Point)

Motor homes, caravans campervans can dump their sewage waste as that assigned dumping points.  They are located at the following places:

• Chillgoe -  Rodeo Grounds
• Mt Molloy - Rifle Creek Rest Area
• Ravenshoe - Ascham Street (on left-hand side after the school, before the football grounds)
• Atherton - Grove Street (Sewerage Treatment Plant)
• Mareeba - Davies Park, Doyle Street (across the road, behind the Mareeba Leagues Club)
• Mareeba - Riverside Caravan Park also offers motorhomers and caravanners the use of their dump point
