Up to $35,000 is available in 2016-17 to fund regionally significant initiatives, events and projects that enhance economic development opportunities. This includes the diversification of existing industries, encouraging entrepreneurialism and new industries, small business support, business case development of catalytic infrastructure projects and improved education, training and employment opportunities.
The funding guidelines are currently under review. It is likely that applications will be sought via a funding round so that all applications can be reviewed and assessed together.
The Senior Advisor Economic Development and Communication will review requests for funding against the guidelines and provide a report to Council for approval.
